Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our community, services, and the transition to assisted living.
General
We offer a continuum of care including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Respite Care. Each program is designed to meet different needs, from seniors who want maintenance-free living to those who require specialized dementia care.
Our admissions team conducts a comprehensive assessment to understand your loved one's physical, cognitive, and emotional needs. We'll recommend the most appropriate care level and work with you to create a personalized care plan. This assessment is complimentary and can be done during a tour visit.
Yes, absolutely. One of the benefits of Serenity Gardens is our ability to adjust care as needs change. Residents don't have to move to a different facility if they need more support—we can increase services within their current home. We call this our 'aging in place' philosophy.
Yes, we are a pet-friendly community! We understand that pets are family. We welcome small dogs and cats with some guidelines to ensure the safety and comfort of all residents. Please discuss specific pet policies with our admissions team.
Costs & Payment
Our rates vary based on the level of care needed and apartment type selected. Monthly fees range from approximately $3,500 for Independent Living to $7,500+ for Memory Care. We're happy to provide a detailed quote based on your specific situation.
Our all-inclusive monthly fee covers accommodation, three chef-prepared meals daily plus snacks, 24/7 care staff availability, medication management, weekly housekeeping, laundry services, all utilities, basic cable, WiFi, all activities and programs, scheduled transportation, and emergency response systems.
While we don't directly accept Medicare or Medicaid for room and board, some services like skilled nursing visits or therapy may be covered. We also accept long-term care insurance and Veterans benefits. Our team can help you understand your coverage options.
We require a community fee (equivalent to one month's rent) upon move-in. This is fully refundable within the first 30 days if the resident decides the community isn't the right fit. There is no large entrance fee or buy-in required.
Daily Life
Residents have the freedom to structure their day as they wish. We offer optional morning exercise classes, three meal times in our restaurant-style dining room, and a full calendar of activities. Some residents enjoy quiet time in their apartments or gardens, while others participate in multiple activities daily.
Yes, we encourage residents to bring personal furniture, photos, and meaningful items to make their apartment feel like home. Apartments come with basic furnishings, but personalizing the space often helps with the transition.
Our culinary team prepares nutritious, restaurant-quality meals daily. We accommodate various dietary needs including diabetic, low-sodium, gluten-free, and texture-modified diets. Residents can also request menu substitutions. Between meals, we have snacks available 24/7.
Family visits are welcomed and encouraged! Our visiting hours are 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily, though we can accommodate special circumstances. Family members can also join residents for meals, activities, and special events.
Care & Safety
All care staff complete extensive training including CPR/First Aid, medication management, dementia care techniques, fall prevention, and emergency procedures. They receive ongoing education throughout their employment. Our Memory Care staff have additional specialized dementia care certification.
Each apartment has an emergency call system. Our staff is trained in emergency response, and we have relationships with local hospitals for quick transport when needed. We also have on-call nurses 24/7 and regular visits from physicians and specialists.
Safety is our priority. We have secured entrances, 24-hour staff presence, emergency call systems in all apartments, regular safety drills, and well-lit walkways. Our Memory Care neighborhood has additional security features including secure doors and wander-prevention technology.
Absolutely. We encourage residents to maintain relationships with their existing physicians. We can help coordinate transportation to appointments. We also have visiting physicians, specialists, and therapists who provide on-site care for convenience.
Moving In
Wait times vary based on the apartment type and care level requested. Currently, we have some immediate availability, while other apartment styles may have a short wait. We recommend contacting us early to get on our priority list.
Yes! We offer respite stays starting from just a few days. This is a great way for potential residents to experience daily life here before making a long-term decision. Many of our current residents started with a respite stay.
After choosing an apartment, we'll schedule a move-in date that works for you. Our team handles the logistics—we can recommend moving companies familiar with senior moves. On move-in day, our staff helps with settling in, introduces the resident to neighbors, and ensures a smooth transition.
We require 30 days written notice for move-out. We understand that circumstances change, and we work with families to make transitions as smooth as possible, whether moving to a different care level or leaving our community.
